Well the ranking is poor because of the poor system of rankings by mhrd…apart from that the infrastructure and research is absolutely zero here.. And research forms a major portion of the mhrd ranking system…

But what matters the most in any institute is the placements and the peer groups.. which is top notch here at nit jamshedpur…everyone is focussed towards their target.. Be it cat, gate, ms etc…. There is a great learning environment for those who actually want to learn.

Now coming on to the placements…placements for cse is comparable to any nit in the country and bit mesra…. The placements for core branches are top notch and way above bit mesra and very much equal to nit rourkela.(number 1 nit according to mhrd)…..

Now, this mhrd ranking system sucks big time…its not only in the engineering department.. The ranking seems stupid even for b-school …….

The most important point is that the company officials hardly value these rankings as they have been in the industry for too long and know the level of students that are studying in a particular college….
