Ojass is the annual techno-management fest of NIT Jamshedpur. It is among the top notch techfests in the country. Over the years, Ojass has helped spark the genius in achievers who dared to dream big. The festival marks three days of absolute vigor and ecstatic participation of students from various parts of the country in over sixty technical, management, quizzing and gaming events with prize money worth up to whopping ₹ 1.2 million. The spirit of Ojass lies in encouraging sound engineering practices, making precision engineering a way of life, effectively bringing about a paradigm shift from the classroom to path-breaking innovation.

Ojas is a technical term used in Ayurveda; having physiological signiificance in health and pathological significance in illness. Ojas can be understood as the terminal product of dhatus (tissues) that are formed as a result of progressive metabolic processes. It is taken up in Ayurveda as the premium quality end product of normal metabolism of the food and nutrients consumed in a wholesome manner. Hence, Ayurvedic index of perfect health is a measure of Ojas in appropriate quality and quantity. There are different perspectives on its available quantity in a human body.

In diseases, Ojas can go abnormal qualitatively or quantitatively. An ayurvedic physician will work on the attempts to restore the status of ojas to an acceptable level. There are many herbs and formulations and the special rasayanas to improve the ojas in a disease specific manner. Also, there are non-medical interventions to keep up the ojas levels.

There are no physiological equivalents for ojas in Western physiology of human body. I said, this is an exclusive ayurvedic term. It is useful tool for an ayurvedic physician to rely on.
